The Great Race is Auburn's annual summer classic — a team relay triathlon held at Emerson Park on the northern end of Owasco Lake. 2026 marks the 48th running of the event.

Hundreds of teams turn out each August to run, bike, and paddle a course that's been loved by generations of Central New Yorkers. Whether you're a seasoned competitor or a family out for a fun day, the race brings the community together for fitness, friendly competition, and a celebration at Emerson Park.

The Great Race is organized by an all-volunteer non-profit and is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
